Alex Bride's profile

Crude – The Days of Oil

I chose to focus on our heavy reliance on crude oil as a raw material in manufacturing. It is found in a diverse range of everyday products from tooth paste to car tyres. I devised a Greenpeace petition to pressurize manufacturers into finding alternatives and developed a public campaign to raise awareness of the issue and so gather support for the petition. My campaign consists of a series of images of products containing the substance, dipped in oil. These dipped objects then appear in an exhibition, on billboards, in publications and in public places.
