2011 Junior Thesis, Cinderella Musical Costume Design
Cinderella, The Musical
Costume Design
based on the scrip by Rogers and Hammerstein
This year the title is POISONED APPLES AND SMOKING LAMPS: Interpreting Fairy Tales and Adventure Stories. I took a big leap and created a project that sands out from all the rest narrative illustrations in the show. As a designer illustrator, I choose a different direction and created a series of costume designs for Cinderella, The Musical, which corresponds with the theme.

"It's possible for a plain country bumpkin and a prince to join in marriage.", she sings. Also it is possible for a dreamy fairy tale to be materialized and stepping out on stage, enchanting the audience. This series applies traditional language of illustration to interprete the conceptional vision of a modern performance. The story is based on the script of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella musical production, and aesthetically influenced by artists, Erte and Kay Nielsen.
