HORIZON
Term generally used to indicate the line in which they separate, but at the same time they meet, the indeterminate and the determined, the finite and the infinite, the earth and the sky. The horizon is a free zone, a line that has always helped man to orient himself, but also, metaphorically, a goal to reach. The horizon is a threshold to cross to measure and exceed one's limits. This line is a reassuring reference, but if we try to reach it it becomes elusive, it becomes the unknown and the uncertain. Through my photographs I want to represent the different states of mind of the human being, his concerns and contradictions. Aldous Huxley writes in the essay "The Doors of Perception" of 1954: man is composed of an old world of personal consciousness and, beyond a sea that divides them, from a series of new worlds.
ORIZZONTE
Termine generalmente utilizzato per indicare la linea in cui si separano, ma al tempo stesso si incontrano, l’indeterminato e il determinato, il finito e l’infinito, la terra e il cielo. L’orizzonte è una zona franca, una linea che da sempre ha aiutato l’uomo ad orientarsi, ma anche, metaforicamente,un traguardo da raggiungere. L’orizzonte è una soglia da varcare per misurare e oltrepassare i propri limiti. Questa linea è un riferimento rassicurante, ma se si cerca di raggiungerla diventa sfuggente, si trasforma nell’ignoto e nell’incerto.Attraverso le mie fotografie voglio rappresentare i diversi stati d’animo dell’essere umano, le sue inquietudini e contraddizioni. Così scrive Aldous Huxley nel saggio “Le porte della percezione” del 1954 : l’uomo è composto da un vecchio mondo di coscienza personale e, al di là di un mare che li divide, da una serie di nuovi mondi.
