Commercial Activity Centre


From the previous project Re-Planning of Jober the south west zone for the design process was chosen of because of it’s strategic place to the main roads and traffic, renovating some of the building that still stand and making a touristic and commercial center to the studied area and the surrounding areas.
The zone was divided with clear extensions line from the surroundings including:
Hotel Building
Cinema Building
Central square 
and the renovation of Souq Al Hal to be the commercial center of the zone.
HOTEL BUILDING
In area of 19,000 square meters, the Hotel building was designed to connect the old city of Damascus (1000m far) to the designed area to make an essential connection to attract people from the old city.

CINEMA BUILDING
The goal with this building was to create an entertainment part of the project in addition to the educational part provided by the Library that is connected directly with the Cinema Building.
The building construction is detached from the main souq al hal body by construction but connected in the means of reach.

Renovation of Souq Al Hal
With area of  17500 square meters, the main goal was reserve the commercial characteristic of the building but with some changes in the trading methods.
Four main buildings were planned to be renovated with a central covering roof to make a continuance pedestrian axis between the zone and the surroundings.
