Tulsa New Year's Eve "Ball" Drop
In only 6 weeks, I designed and constructed this "drop" for the downtown Tulsa New Year's Eve party. Most of the materials were donated by local businesses. The construction took place at Tulsa's new Fab Lab. Final dimensions of the drop were over 9' high and 40" wide. The number frames were 16' high and 38' wide. The design was created to reflect some of the most iconic Tulsa characteristics: Art Deco, Native American culture, and the oil & gas industry. The project was a huge success, even in spite of 45 mph wind gusts the night of the event!
