Yves Roy's series of photographs 'Shadows Taking Over' combines a unique sense of the urban environment's encroachment on nature with a very personal vision of human isolation. Taken over a period of 12 months, they examine the nocturnal echoes of life and eery peace in Yves' native Austria with an intensity that shows influences ranging from Gregory Crewdson to Daido Moriyama. The collection formed his submission for the New York Photo Awards.
