Many times i start a clients project and the prototyping process takes me sometimes to something else as a creative deviation far from the one intended by the brief...
This was one of these times.
The clients brief wanted a clever and fresh sign to implement in a logo for an educational series of graphic design seminars. My first thought was to combine the knowledge and the wisdom of the Owl and the obvious semantic for graphic design, a pencil. The second was more direct, a happy to learn pencil...
Here you see these first solutions.
As you can see in the first solution the pencil was ok as a happy pencil, but the owl was just not an owl... some said is was an evil pencil or a bat... and the deviation started designing for fun ( as all creative processes ) little animals...
