Contemporary Town Garden
The client needed to fit his garden with the architecture of the new house but also wanted to reflect his personal style and love of the art. To complement the modern look, I decided to use floating lines of concrete walls and go with strictly green and white for the planting theme for the garden, accented only with red-leaved acer palmatum.
A contemporary, yet comfortable town garden was carefully composed, and space was extracted for multiple ‘outdoor rooms’ while leaving maximum space for the lawn. A modern water feature and a long narrow pool become the main focal points in the garden, visible from the living room, the bedrooms, and the big wooden terrace. Subtle lighting brings the garden to life after dark, which helps to connect it to the living space when it i's not being used.
