Edith Wharton grew up seeing the best and worst of upper class Victorian society. She was wonderful at telling pitfalls and dramas of all the things that should of be kept secret in polite society. Loved for her candor and her incredible characters, Edith Wharton is one of my literary heroes who transports me into world of the perplexing world of the 19th century.
