You have no Idea what you might find when you put a fresh pair of eyes on.
It is quite interesting to find out of a place, characters and spaces in a place that you live in everyday. There is new beauty in every day life. Just because you have seen the same street and buildings, heard the same voices and part taken in your routine day after day does not mean that it has become mundane and meaningless.

I have a deep feeling that it is the individual looking out at the world with the same eyes she or he was using yesterday. The dawning of a NEW day is always a challange posed to us by life to seize the day. It presents us with the opportunity to veiw our environment and ourselves with a fresh persepective each and every time.

This series was shot outside my house a couple of months back. When I showed it to a friend of mine(who doesn't live far away from me) yesterday, she asked me where I had taken these photographs. The look of surprise in here eyes when I told her, gave me satisfaction in that I was able to show her a setting that she was so used to and still not recognize.

Have a fresh outlook on life, you never know what you might find.

A male wondering in the desert during mating season.

A male gives me a convicting stare as if he is aware of my lens encrouching on his privacy with a female during mating season.
Something has distracted her from the rest of her siblings during play.
Why do we still hang on to the things that give us a sense of security, where as we are not satisfyed and yearn for something more.
We push our insecurities and hide behind clicks and gangs to take away the feeling that we are always in danger, not of something or someone but of ourselves.
We try to 'fit in' with what society has deemed cool in order not to stand out and risk being in the firing lines of 'they'.
'They' say codene is the best thing since mary jane.
'They' say its cool to wear your pants below your waist.

'They' are a hinderance to your creativity and personal growth.
Don't fit in.
The young boys have now come of age and remain wonderers in the streets. They don't know where they come from, or where they may go. However, these young men know where they are.
"Live in the moment."

It's all about perspective.
She looks out at the younger girls as they go about their morning chores, they add a bit of play to it and joke around about some of the weeks past events. A sense of nostalgia beams through her eyes as the shutter releases to capture a reflection of a time gone by.
'Umama' as she is commonly knowin in the Nguni tribes.
She is the queen of her own castle, her own kingdom if I dare to say, or if you ever dare to venture into her world.
"A womans heart is an ocean of secrets"

The 'lost child' stares at the world everyday with a new outlook. He's a hustler, a money maker, "outi ya kasi". Always schemeing a master plan to get back to the day he lost his way. A futile effort as his path is shrouded in marijuana and ciggarete smoke. these have become a pungent repelent on the 'childs' mental and emotional growth.
