The Ultimate Home Theater
18 Seats - JBL Synthesis Speakers - Mark Levinson Amps & Processor - DPI Projector
There were only a few essential criteria for this theater project, representing the biggest and best picture and sound possible was at the top of the list. A 14 foot wide Stewart CineCurve masking screen paired with a DPI Titan Reference 1080p projector with anamorphic lens delivered the largest picture feasible in the space although it had been requested to go even bigger. This avid sports fan was also interested in being able to view multiple games simultaneously but did not want that to inhibit the size of the primary screen. The Crestron DVPHD multi-window video processor provided the capability to watch up to eight sources at once and with the processor’s built-in annotation, even allows the client to do his own telestration via the 17” touch panel. A Kaleidescape system with 10TB of storage serves up selections from the client’s movie or music collection at will. A custom JBL Synthesis system utilizes the line’s K2S9900 floor standing loudspeakers as front channels. Two 18” subwoofers and four 10” in-wall subwoofers were strategically placed for optimum low end performance and a Mark Levinson electronics ensemble administers nearly 7000 watts of audiophile power to the speaker package. JBL’s powerful DSP processors allow the sound to be tailored specifically to the environment through use of their 10 microphone calibration system. Behind the stretched fabric panels of various depths making up the room’s interior reside a multitude of acoustical treatments from absorber panels, diffuser panels and broadband bass traps. The iSky LED driven star-field ceiling tops off this theater. Over 100 individual fiber optic panels were used to create the night sky above this powerful space.
