Broadcast set for Wolf Blitzer is located in the CNN Washington DC Bureau.  The design intent was to provide a flexible, media intensive environment with a distinctly modern sensibility in its use of materials and detailing. The studio accommodates a variety of broadcast areas which include a main anchor “hard news” desk, an informal group discussion area, a 1-on-1 interview area and an anchor stand-up position.

The design approach was to locate a central platform with a stair and media wall which bisects the space into two broadcast zones (formal and informal). The media wall serves as a lightbox with interchangeable graphic
panels as well as an armature for pivoting LCD display panels which can be rotated for use on either side of the wall. A modular ceiling canopy hovers above the central platform and features both typical recessed downlights and theatrical lighting fixtures with an integrated mounting channel, power and dimmer locations.
