There are two main things that I've gathered from photographing so many personalities, one being that it never hurts to ask, at least once and that smiles truly are contagious. Some of the faces captured here belong to those whom I never thought would be a part of my portfolio, but they have my gratitude. And some of the smiles captured here are so genuine that you can't help but to smile along. That's one quality I wanted the portraits to possess, a happy-go-lucky or peppy mood. The smiles help with that concept, but the various colors and brightness of the photos bring that emotion full center. It's comforting when things come together like that. Of course, this series would be nothing without all these beautiful faces. From my heart to every single person who participated, I eternally thank you for taking time out of your day to help me create something as incredible as Bowtie Wednesday. You all have reassured me that although my artistic journey may be a long one, at least there are people along the way who will volunteer to be a part of some DVart! Again, thank you a thousand times. A very special thank you to the other bowtie expert who started it all with me. Because of Tanner's expertise and his collection, we were able to spark enough interest to get Bowtie Wednesday started. Before I met him, my collection was a mere 10 to 15 bowties, but compared to his 50 or so, I couldn't compete. He motivated me to expand my collection that lead to me learning how to sew them, from there it was history. He also wasn't too proud to give me a daily dose of Jesus and His word, which is always a blessing in itself. I still appreciate his honesty today and will continue to wish him all the best on his musical journey through life. Thanks for everything man. I do hope this series brings as much joy to all of you as it does to me. It's one of my proudest body of work, and I pray that it will continue to grow as I travel to Reno to capture the beautiful faces over there. Much love, - DV Read Less
