This was a very time consuming illustration. I wanted to try out a illustration style that was very fun, whimsical and rich in colour. Still Semi cartoonish because of the solid colour blocks yet also filled with details such as soft shadowing, texture and various lighting effects. 

Whilst doing this I was also entertaining the idea of telling a narrative in a picture. Things like the dishes left on the table, desert cooking in the oven, flashing red light on the phone to indicate a missed/ignored phone call. I didn't necessarily do it well in this illustration but it's now something I want to further explore.
