Packaging Design- Mont Blanc

The Milestone Present

This was a project given to me from college where the criteria was to design a packaging solution for a product of our choice, incorporating experiential design elements. It could be a single product or a range of products. I chose to work on a luxury brand as I hadn't worked on one before. I chose Mont Blanc as my client. Below is the step by step process of how I came up with the idea of packaging four major products; a wallet, a pen, a watch and a pair of cuff links all into one compact package. The idea behind this came up when my Dad turned fifty this year and buying the right gift for such a big event in his life was a very hard decision to make. So I thought of working with the Meisterstuck collection that was introduced over the years by Mont Blanc.
This present could be given to a senior delegate in a company for serving many years in a company, an anniversary present from a wife to her husband or any suitable special occasion.
Everything that is shown in the pictures below are all created from scratch by me. It took me around a week to complete the structure with the final touches. I have used materials like card, leather, velvet, sponge and extremely strong glue that was my saviour during the course of this project.

You have the watch and the wallet that come out from the bottom left and the pen and cufflinks that come out from the top right. This is only a prototype to showcase at college, so all the products used in this, are not by Mont Blanc.

This is the manual that fits in the compartment next to the pen and cufflinks, which gives a small write up of the products that are there inside.
