Experienced photographing people and lifestyle for agency and corporate clients, I had always wondered if landscape photography would do it for me.
While I had one quick attempt when I lived in Atlanta, I wasn't happy with the results (clear blue skies don't make for dramatic skyscape photographs).
Having returned to live in my home country Ireland, and sufferring sun withdrawal symptoms for years, I eventually ventured outside early this summer with my trusted iPhone in hand - to test my metal using this 'non-professional' camera, to see the quality I could get from it.
After photographing The Dark Hedges (the location for The Kings Road in Game of Thrones), I was happy enough with the images. Saying that, it was only when I brought the digital images into Photoshop, and played about with contrast, colour and other effects (always thinking 'less is more'), I was pleasantly surpised that my final images stood out as quite unique in style.
