POSTMODERNISM:
Sigmar Polke, Jean Tingueley, Jean Claude and Christo, Anthony Caro were all artists of the time period whose work I really enjoyed. By making drawings from their work in my own style, I had a starting point for later research.
I've always loved monoprinting so when I was given the opportunity to use the print workshop at uni I was able to really develop my skills and take my visual research further.
The following images are Illustrator files that were used to send to the laser cutter for final outcomes to be produced. A very intensive process; using Illustrator to create a successful pattern but very rewarding when it works!
Cut from wooden offcuts, these are just two out of the eight final designs cut for wearable art necklace designs. Two very different designs but work with the Postmodernism theme well.
