This specific repeated pattern is based off of all of the dismantled porcelain doll parts that I would see in boxes at Stuttgart's antique market. It always fascinated me to see the remnants of objects that were once loved. Some would have matches and others would be alone in the world. They had histories. I like to imagine these kinds of things in patterns, so I drew up the remnants into these pattern samples.
