The artwork on the Knew was inspired by patterns on old Viking chest plate armour, and features two valknuts in the center. A valknut is an old Norse/Viking symbol consisting of three interlocked triangles, with a number of theories to its meaning and significance. One theory is that it is a symbol of the power of the god Odin to bind and unbind the minds of men in battle, making men helpless. He could also loosen the tensions of fear and strain by his gifts of battle-madness, intoxication and inspiration.
