Classic Cocktail Bar Identity

Rob Gentry is owner of two successful eateries: The Blue Plate, a metropolitan diner, and Local 191, your new favorite bar, and Widgets & Stone created identities for both. So when Rob decided to create a small classic cocktail bar in a small 500 square foot space behind Local 191, he turned to Widgets & Stone to help with logo and design work.
Since the drink recipes were inspired by a 1950s cocktail book, the designs drew heavily from the quirky typefaces and illustration styles of matchbooks from the 1950s era.
Menus boards were made of solid anodized steel, painted and distressed by Range Projects, and daily paper menus are printed and attached with magnets.
Window signage was kept simple and understated.
