The Hemisphere is based completely on user interaction by creating an input and producing an output.
We first focused on the interaction itself and decided to design it with kids in mind. Children touch and feel everything within reaching distance and therefore an object which uses this inquisitive nature as an input was ideal.
 
The Hemisphere has a soft sandblasted texture inviting the user to touch it. Once touched, blue LEDs begin to spin and the longer the contact, the faster they spin. If the user removes their hand the light will stop in the position on the hemisphere that the user let go and if held for to long the light glows red. This provided us with an ideal opertunity to use this as a game and lends itself to a modern version of spin the bottle.
