Although there have been more than four sardines paintings created, this title was inspired by the format.

Installing the work with spacing heightens the sense of movement within the subject.

In this detail, you can see some of the eyes catching and reflecting the light.

Each canvas is signed, titled and dated on the front and back.  the signatures on the front are done using the same burnishing technique as the eyes, making the writing nearly invisible until it catches the light.
