14-year-old Wave is a Thai boxer I trained with in southern Thailand. Muay Thai is the national sport in Thailand, and a cultural cornerstone. Like most Thai boxers, Wave started training around age 7, with the goal of becoming a pro fighter and helping to earn money for his family. He now has over 40 professional fights, and his experience represents the fundamental journey of the modern Thai boxer.
