There are alot of exciting IP's coming up and one of them is Blizzards first new IP in years: OVERWATCH. I saw potential for an RPG spin-off and decided to work out some UI/UX and a short flow for the hypothetical project. One note of importance is I wanted to have "Tales of OVERWATCH"s UI aesthetic match a classic J-RPG feel but modernized for todays sophisticated gamers. I also wanted to ensure that its look/feel matched the current thematic UI from the original OVERWATCH but stood on its own without being interchangable. The result is a mix of flat light-based UI and real tangible UI elements made from chrome and steel.

The first few screens show a user loading up a save, and then the next few demonstrate gameplay UI followed by main menu UI. The gameplay UI is based around a gameplay mechanic I envisioned called the TagTeam system. Critical hits and exploiting enemy weaknesses build a TagTeam meter that when full, allow any hero to combine forces with another for a special skill unique to their combination.

The final set of images showcases wireframes and a couple of explorations I made during the course of designing the gameplay UI to find the layout containing the best IA and look/feel.
