Float Blocks was created during a 3-D design class at Savannah College of Art and Design in 2005. As an exploration of a design in environmental space, this sculpture advocates the possibility of an assumed impossibility: blocks ( of some unknown composition ) mysteriously float above the crest of plant life in a field. Bamboo supports keep the light-weight blocks aloft while the vegetation conceal them from view. In short, I wanted the viewer to suspend their disbelief and experience a kind of absurd mystery.
