Children Photography Sessions
About & Preparation Details
About & Preparation Details
A child session with Crave Photography should be fun for the child, so I try to only keep children sessions between 1/2 hour to an hour. I try to aid the session by the needs of the child, and I try not to push them past their "boiling point." At the beginning of the session, I try to play with the child, using my child friendly environment so that they can warm up to me and get used to my voice, my actions, and so on. By the end of the session, you will have many natural, fun, exciting photos to share!
Planning For Your Child's Session
Plan your child's session around your child's schedule! Make sure your child is well rested, fed, and fully awake!
A session is an event that you plan. Therefore, plan your child's attire, plan for clean faces, and plan accessories! Choose colors that compliment your child and if you are having more than one child photographed make sure they compliment each other.
Communicate ideas with your photographer ahead of time. If there are poses, or ideas that you want to try, or even personal items you would like incorporated, let Crave know!
Get personal! Bring items to your session such as favorite rocking chair, blankets, blocks, etc that are sentimental to your family or your child.
Arrive 10-15 minutes ahead of time. This will give your child a chance to take in his or her surroundings and adjust.
Let your child lead the session. Enough said!
Don't always plan for cheesy smiles. Some of the best faces are those that are frowning, contemplating, or curious. You want your photos to be natural, and faces that capture your child's natural everyday looks.
And most of all, Relax! Have Fun! if you are frustrated or annoyed, your child can see that and will become so as well!
