Google CS First needed an interface for users to create a computer science club, request materials for their club, and track the progress of their students throughout the club. I was given a preliminary flow chart of user journeys, and was responsible for creating and coding the frontend of the interface.
I started by sketching interfaces on paper, then created wireframes and low-fi mockups using Balsamiq. These were presented to the team for feedback, and tested on some potential users. We launched an early version of the dashboard, gathered user feedback and data, then re-launched a revamped dashboard 6 months later.
There are many components and steps involved in creating a club that needed to be accounted for in the interface. We chose to implement a wizard, designed to be easy-to-use for less tech-savvy users.
