THE ARGUS C3 is the most popular camera ever made. Lovingly known as "the Brick", the C3 is easy to use, sturdy and sports a simple, easy to maintenance mechanism. As such, it became the perfect donor for this project. Intended to reuse the same mechanics from any existing C3, the C3M is my redesign of the classic Argus for a modern audience. Taking cues from Leica, Apple, Sony and others, the C3M employs a unibody design. The unibody would be made through the DMLS process, giving it a unique texture and generating a honeycomb interior for reduced weight. The focusing mechanism is removed, making the C3M a range-finder, and streamling the exterior, while simple aluminum front and back plates create opportunities for color customisation. The C3M brings a modern, refined asthetic to a classic camera. The joy of film photography with a camera as beautiful as the pictures.
