After a university trip to Brazil where BBQ food is extremely popular! I was blown away by the simplistic approach to cooking with limited choice but the food being done to an amazing standard. With this in mind I wanted to create a restaurant that was simplistic in it's approach but screamed quality. I wanted to create an experience where the customer is not bombarded with decisions and given a simple menu that they can cook themselves.

'El Pozo' means 'The Pit'. The restaurant will include individual BBQ pits on each table for customers to grill and bake their own meals.

The D.I.Y approach to cooking is brought to life through to the menus as this is made from coal which can be cracked by the customers and thrown into 'EL POZO' too add fuel to the fire. The black and white colour scheme comes from an observation, coal is black and when it gets hot and ready to be cooked on it turns white.

I wanted to expand the projects through to different touch points taking on the ethos of simplicity with a quirky tone of voice.
