In our everyday life we are not aware of the usual daily activities. Daily life becomes infinitely reproducing rituals. Ritual cancels secular chronological time and restores the sacred time
of myth. It is in the experience of the sacred, in a meeting with the supernatural reality, there is some idea of the existence of absolute values, able to direct man and give meaning to his existence.
But the ritual involves an object of worship and requires sacrifice. The victim is a man himself because of his primary commitment to the absolute truth. Man is mortal, and is looking for immortality, he is imperfect and seeking perfection.
