My time doing a 5 month internship in New Balance as part of their Design Foundry Program has proved to be one of the best things I could've ever done. For one, I had the privilege to work side by side with a talented team of designers, developers and marketers that mentored me closely about the ins and outs footwear design.
I also got to design 2 running shoes that will be in production for next year! An experience that showed me, step by step, what it takes to take a sketch into real world application. (stay tuned..)
And lastly they also had us, the interns, create a personal concept footwear project complete with a finished 1st Proto. This allowed us to vividly explore and create a vision of what NB could possibly be like in the near future. This is my project, the MR110 (a.k.a. NB Mud Runners). Enjoy!
