There is lots of mathematics here besides the formulae on the board: the conical sections, the Sierpinski sponge the person in the portrait is holding (barely seen at this size), the hypercube projection, the tensegrity toy, the scytale, etc. Some of these had been specifically requested by the client, who is a mathematician. Others I had added myself.
