Below is a brochure I created and designed for a branding workshop I gave at a local Romance Writers of America chapter. The workshop focused on personal branding through identity on both a personal and professional level.
Getting started can seem daunting, especially if you don't know what to do. Some people think branding is a logo or a template with nice colors, but in truth it is far more personal. A brand is a promise made that is kept each and every time someone interacts with you.
The success of a brand depends entirely on your approach and the quality of your work. Regardless of all the get-there-quick schemes, a brand takes time to cultivate and perfect. The reason is that you need to establish who you are, what you do, and whom you serve. Once you determine these things, you then need to take steps to develop your presence in the marketplace.
It took me years to understand the single truth about a brand--The brand is you.
The workshop turned out great with many in the audience telling me afterwards that it was exactly what they needed. Some are well-known names in their genre, while a few were just publishing their first book. I'm glad I could impart some marketing and branding wisdom I've learned over the years.
