logo redeisgn
I had been training at Seven Star Women’s Kung Fu for about a year when I offered to redesign some recruitment posters. Around the same time I started taking pictures at belt tests and soon became the unofficial official photographer.

In the spring of 2010, I started talking with the business manager about taking on a more comprehensive project, which grew into a new logo and redesign of many of the school’s materials, including brochures, tshirts, business cards and finally another student with mad web design skillz turned my graphics, photos and starting ideas into a much needed overhaul of the website.

The logo started with a photoshoot with Sifu Michelle McVadon, the head of the school, and Allyson Riley, the assistant head instructor. We took a bunch of different poses, some of which turned out as beautiful portraits. I converted them to high contrast black and white, printed them out and used the very technical method of tracing them on my living room window before scanning them back into the computer and manipulating them with Adobe Illustrator.
