To re-introduce the novel “The City of Ember” by Jeanne DuPrau as a book for people to read, to think about the life in a post-apocalyptic world and to understand the value within the story.

The book design concept is “The only light in the dark”. The concept of this book can relate back to the city and the character, where Ember is the only hope for human survival in the apocalyptic world and the main character is the only hope for saving the people in the city from an eternal darkness. The first part of the book will be mostly black in color and will turn brighter (yellow) as the story goes. The book is suitable for adults and young adults, where they can immerse their mind into the story of surviving in the dark.
