Problem:
For my publication design class, we were asked to design a cover for The Brother's Grimm Fairy Tales aimed at an audience of our choice.
Strategy:
I chose a young adult audience of 13-18 years old, because the Grimm version of common fairy tales are often too violent for anyone younger, and maybe too juvenile for an adult audience. I saw a theme among young adult novel covers: black backgrounds, simple imagery and adorned fonts.
Creative:
For my cover, I implemented all three elements, chosing to focus on the Peter Piper tale, an especially gruesome Grimm's story.
