Guilty Until Proven Innocent

Guilty Until Proven Innocent

This poster project is part collaborative exercise between BFA Thesis students at the Corcoran College of Art + Design and the students at Universidad de Monterrey in Mexico. Both groups were asked to research race and culture and where they intersect with graphic design. Each student collected images throughout the summer and was asked to pick a topic based on that research and create a poster.

My poster focuses on Alabama's controversial immigration law that requires police to use "reasonable suspicion" to check on the immigration status of those stopped, among other strict provisions. These laws not only promote harassment but also encourage racial profiling.

The final posters will be part of traveling exhibit in 2012.
