This is the recent design of myself and my industrial partners Angus Thompson and West Mackintosh, as part of  a 3rd year assignment we chose to change the community of Woodstock Cape Twon through safety. This assignment though sounds simple is far from it, a massive amount of physical research and concept ittertion came into play throughout the process and in the end the design was meant to be comunity based and not just another product. Introducing the 3rd ye system, a theoretical but very possible future security system for your personal vehicle. 

As this interaction board shows the process steps, the most common crime within Woodstock is that of Car breakins and theft from cars. It has gone to the point that literally anything could become a target down to a pack of cigarettes. The system is on a constant surveillance feed , able and ready to alert both you and the authorities at a moments notice. 

The mechanical break down shows the interior of the camera unit itself, a small neutral shape as to not make a presence within a car thus keeping it vigil , with its two modes that of sentry and alert mode it, can quickly and with clear focus take photos and videos within 720p resolution and completely clear regardless of movement, thanx to the innovation of the Picam (see tech drawings), its a revolutionary new micro camera that supports 16 inidividual cameras taking the exact same shot and with built in computing software allows co-allates the images into one fully focused image reagrdless of distance. 

Some final renders of the design, and configuration. Notice the black box this is phase 2 of the design as its integrated within the cars dashboard and houses the componentry to send and store visual data upon breakin, with the use of a wifi uplink and ssd. 

once a breakin occurs the 3rd eye unit initiates alert mode whereby it records data and sends it to the secure cloud storage for upload by the client and the authorites this is also fixed with a gps location and date stamp to ensure for details.

a simplified version of the process through imagery... from imobolising the car whereby the alarm is set, to the visual and breakin, this is where the security system activates with both audible and visual deterent supporting the camera. he networking interface between cars is where it becomes ingenius, its ability to talk to other cars surrounding it with 3rd eye, allow it to have a complete visual map of where the criminal is etc.

the logo design for system is a fairly simplistic shape. 

the final computer render, the design is made solely of a carbon black UV resistant ABS plastic that ensure long life span and houses the latest in camera and sensor technology. Using both a series of PIR motion sensors and triaxial accelerometers this design creates optimal interior securty.

Part this assignment was to visually display information gathered on the effeced area with which our design is situated, this infographic was designed from scratch to showcase the statistics involved within woodstock car breakins.... All technology is covered. 

The assignment was a success and distinction worthy, hope you enjoyed it.
