Tangerine Bar is the original Asian fusion cocktail bar located in the beating heart of Wellington’s Cuba street. The origin of Tangerine Bar lies in the Chinese word Gú: meaning ancient. Tangerine is designed to be a space dedicated to friends and finding a place to belong. It is a place where the ancient traditions and origins of our parent’s homelands are recognized and honoured, while setting your roots as a new generation.
The brand’s identity is based on the bar’s focus on community.
What began as a simple branding exercise quickly turned into a massive launch project involving interior design, lighting rigs, sign writing and a massive origami ceiling installation. From beginning to end, I was involved in every creative step. During 9 months of Brand Management the bar has grown and taken shape; Artwork is hung in a dedicated gallery space, embracing local students, designers and architects. Live Music Fridays make Tangerine the perfect place to wind down after a hard week at work, with jazz music accompanying the dinner crowd while innovative cocktails are devised by passionate and creative bartenders.
