Nastkashe is a package design for liquor bottles. It is made mostly from natural materials. The package can be repurposed as a placemat, a book or an iPad stand.

Most liquor stores provide a brown paper bag to carry your purchased goods. However, these bags do not provide any protection and do not help make your method of transportation easier.

My goal was to design a package that was simple, cost effective, enabled easy to carry use, and above all, protection. As an additional challenge, I wanted the package to be reusable to minimize waste.

Natskashe was inspired by Japanese sushi mats. Using special laser cut patterns, I was able to use a wood bending technique, kerf bending, to render a solid sheet of wood flexible.

The final package design provides protection, a handle for ease of transportation, and reusable capabilities such as a placemat, and a book or an iPad stand.
I'd like to thank my professor, Albert Ng, for overseeing my project and supporting me along my process.
