I was brought on at the beginning of the project as the main game artist. I conceptualized the main character, Ounce, to fit the given aesthetic guidelines. They were aiming for a cute, whimsical feel with sketched cartoon characters. Creating a couple of different characters, I presented these to the small team for review and modification with the rest of the team. The final design chosen was the blue owlet, with modifications to the beak colour.
 
In user tests, the graphics were well-received. Most of the testers found them polished and professional, and the sprite animation smooth.
