In this piece, I wanted to show the generation arise of three generations of strong Native women. On their hands are the Tewa (the Native language for Santa Clara Pueblo, New Mexico) labels of how they are associated them to me. So from the bottom up it starts with my grandma, mom, aunt, sister and little cousin. This image was created for the 2014 Southwestern Association for Indian Arts, Inc. and won a first place ribbon.
