Campo Grafico
My thesis project
Campo Grafico (1933-1939) was an innovative Italian magazine of typography born in Milan. My thesis is an editorial design project where I could apply different teachings of Campo Grafico. Experimentation is the main concept. My thesis book was exposed at "Triennale di Milano", the first museum of Italian design, in occasion of the devoted exhibition of Attilio Rossi (the founder of Campo Grafico).

Campo Grafico was much more than a magazine
When I analyzed the volumes of Campo Grafico I realized that it was much more than a magazine. It was an expression of European art, a collection of guidelines for typographic projects, an historical experience of Italian graphic design, a free point of view born in the difficult fascist period. Campo Grafico was also the first emphasizing the importance of the design phase in typography. My thesis collects the analysis of all the 66 magazines, printed for the first time.
