Whitgift School: School graphics

Whitgift is an independent day and boarding school for boys that is located in South Croydon, Greater London. John Whitgift, formerly the Archbishop of Canterbury, founded the school in 1596 and after a relocation the school now sits on land once owned by Henry the VIII.
The faculty of the science department contacted us at Vi HQ to ask for assistance in creating a one off, custom wall mural that would span both sides of a thirty-meter corridor. The Science department arranged a design consultation with our lead designer in order to deliver the design brief and specification.
The bespoke design needed to incorporate a timeline of scientific discoveries stretching all the way back to Halley’s Comet in 1705. The wall covering also needed to contain images of school pupils, illustrations, and colour as well as being engaging and creative holistically. The concept also had to take into account doorways and other fixtures so that they wouldn’t negatively impact the design.

Once the design was finalised we created ready to print files and produced the sixty-meter bespoke graphic. Following this process we couriered the graphics to site and our crew of highly trained, experienced installers adhered the graphic to the school’s walls to create the desired educational interior design effect.
