Solar prominences is a project composed of 4 drawings 30x30cm. It was inspired by outstanding features formed in the Sun's corona. Observed from the earth, the prominences are noticeable around the edge of the sun during a solar eclipse – so paradoxically, tha fact of "hiding" makes it visible. The question of visibility was crucial for me while working on the project. Covering black background with black materials (like pencil and soot), drawing, scratching, burning and smoking it, I obtained a specific texture, elements of which can appear and disappear acc ording to the position of external light and the angle of sight of the viewer. Each of the drawings represents a slightly different structure, maintaining the same composition and technique.

The work was awarded in the Hestia Artistic Journey Contest 2016 and displayed at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.
