Disrupt! is a short story anthology comprised of original works by students in Cornish College's new Art, Design, Film+Media Foundations program. While learning about the process of storytelling, each student had to compose and revise a short story that centered around the semester's theme of disruption. Optionally, students could submit their stories for inclusion in the book. Some students also submitted original artworks that supplemented the written works.
Designed for legibility and visibility.
I designed the book with a focus on two things: readable and legible text inside a layout that showcases supplementary art. To accomplish this, I selected Azo Sans by Rui Abreu. Headings are large, bold, and red to set them apart from the black or white paragraph text.

Showcasing the work.
Standard text spreads are white with black paragraph text, while spreads including artwork are black with white text. This shifts the focus to the artwork that accompanies some of the stories. The final output is a book that is about 30 pages at about 8"×10"×¼".
