Knot A Stutter
A visualisation of a recorded interview between Republican Presidential
candidate Herman Cain and the Miwaukee Journal Sentinel. Here, imperfect
speech is visualized through knotted string to highlight the normalcy of
irregularities. The knotting is used to show the tension and constriction
associated with speech blocks. Each different knot charts/ denotes a
specific type of block ie. a prolongation or a repetition.
