Persefone woke up for the millionth time in her bedroom. 
The room was dark, as always, a darkness barely broken by feeble tendrils of light creeping through the occasional cracks in the walls. 
She stood up, in the drunkenly fashion of the sleepwalkers. 
There were days when she could not get herself to rise from her bed. Those were the days when the unfathomable uselessness of it all was too big to accept.

Every room, every corner, every nook, every crack, she knew all about that place. Still Persefone hoped to find an open door hiding behind a well-known mirror, or a dusty curtain.

There were terrible days when she could remember the light-filled skies of her youth.

One day she found a note hiding in a book. It read - spring will come.

Leaning against a wall, she whispered like many times before - is it spring yet? 
The ceiling replied, as always - is it spring yet?
