Trotter variants

 

Trotters are flying beasts with an omnivorous diet. They mainly consume fruits, nuts, carrion, and beasts much smaller than themselves. Wild individuals generally keep away from humans and will fly away if any come too close. There are three wild variants and one domestic variant of trotters. The names of the wild variants are based on which region they mainly reside in, however it is common to find different variants along the borders of regions. The domestic variant was bred to be smaller, friendlier, and more colorful. 

Cresn varients

 

Cresn are herd beasts found widely throughout eastern Illusao. They use their large horns both for defense against predators and for sparring with others of their species. Both male and female cresn have equally large horns, however only the males have feathers on their neck. During mating season, these feathers change to become bright colors. Multiple variants are known to live in the same area from time to time, however they usually prefer to keep away from the other variants. Cresn feed on grasses, leaves, and fungi and are very skittish around humans. They are often sought after by hunters due to their horns, which are used for weapons and apparel. 

Imp variants

 

Imps are troublesome beasts that usuallly live in groups. They are known to steal and move things around in towns, making them a nuisance to many people. Unlike most other beasts with variants, imp variants are not named after regions. This is because two of the imp variants live in the Peaks. Patterns on the fur of the imp variants ranges, however the base color of their fur remains the same throughout the variant population. Type 1 imps generally live in the foothills of the mountains, type 2 imps generally live in the Trees, type 3 imps generally live in the Grasses, and type 4 imps generally live at high altitudes in the Peaks. Domestic imps were bred to be small and have rounded horns. Domestic imps are very affectionate companions.

Tuskow variants

Tuskow are an entirely domesticated species of beast. They are used as livestock and their meat is an extremely common and important food in much of Illusao. Each are kept in farms in the region that gives them their variant name. Wastelands tuskow are mutated Grasses tuskow. The Wastelands variant can be rather unsafe to eat, however the people of the Wastelands have grown immune to the toxins of this variant's meat. It is still highly recommended that people who do not have heritage in the Wastelands do not attempt eating Wastelands tuskow meat, as they have not grown immunities and may become sick as a result of consuming it. Poles tuskow have longer fur and are slightly smaller than the other two variants.
