Compensator (Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy)

RadiationĀ therapy uses high-energy radiation to treat cancer. The main objective is to concentrate doses of energy into the tomour and protect the surrounding healthy tissue. This is accomplished through the use of compensators wich modulates the intensity and the shape of the beam.
WeĀ have developed an improved assemblyĀ systemĀ of IMRT compensators, based in the interaction and integration of the cycle of use, arming procedures and the final product.
The new systemĀ reduces significantly, delivery times, costs and margin of error in the assembly process.Ā  Ā

The system is constitutedĀ of three parts:
1. Tray: supports all the components.
2. Box: supports and aligns the milling model.
TheseĀ two are assembled together by the quick access fasteners.
3. Milling model: represents the required form and contains the shielding material.
- The Tray and the Box are reusable.
- The Milling Model is disposable.
